On October 22, 2011, Matrix Orange unveils an exhibition of the Ukrainian contemporary art group Absinth Reality (www.absinthreality.com). It will take place in the historical part of The Hague at the Wine & Art Gallery (The House of Caviar, Lange Voorhout 25) and will be opened by His Excellency Olexander Horin, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of The Netherlands.

“Absinth Reality” is an art group formed in Ukraine in 2009 by Vadim Shamanov, a painter, and Alexander Shimbarovsky, a photographer. The name "Absinth Reality" is a metaphor for their approach to art. It is infused by abstract schemes of hyperrealism and surrealism. Everyday objects are amplified and are seen in a different light. The artist’s vision of the world is seen as if it were influenced by the consumption of absinth. Even though the group is relatively young, it has already been recognized in both Ukraine and abroad. The artists’ credits for the first half of the year 2011 alone include exhibitions in Munich and Amsterdam. In 2012, in recognition of their accomplishments, the group will be exhibited at the Ukrainian State Art Museum.
